JON Sharp seemed a fairly relaxed man after that no-show against the Bulls.
It’s a bit early to start panicking Mr Mainwaring but it seems fairly obvious – even to a sofa-bound clown like myself – where the Giants are lacking.
The front row isn’t the best but not many stand up to Bradford. Still a bit unsure about George Gatis.
It’s the back row where they’re missing out. Compare the impact Lolesi, Snitch and Raleigh had with the efforts of Glenn Morrison alone (er, not Ian Morrison as the ref kept calling him..nor Jim for that matter).
And that’s a Bulls side missing David Solomona. Time for the Giants to get Stephen Wild back in there.
There’s enough firepower out wide and guile with Luke Robinson for Giants fans not to start pulling their hair out yet.
Though Sharp and Paul Anderson don’t set any great examples for them.
Even Stevo made a valid point. I’ll repeat that..EVEN STEVO MADE A VALID POINT.
Amongst the usual meandering garbage he pondered if Chris Thorman is underused at full-back? Watching him against Bradford made me think how Leeds used to utilise Iestyn Harris in the days he had pace and a step.
They’d hide him away at full-back for 20 minutes or so then bring him up to six when Rhinos were on the attack.
All this early season calamity means Giants share bottom spot with Hull after Harlequins did them at the KC.
Is it all right to feel sorry for Hull? I know it’s difficult but they do have half a team missing and Motu Tony appears to have gone insane at full-back.
Glad to see Warrington are behaving entirely like loons too.
I took a sick pleasure in the fact Chris Bridge has copped the same injury as I have and will be following his progress keenly.
Reckon he’ll be doing a bit more weights than me (unless you count lifting and eating a whole tube of Jaffa Cakes in one sitting).
And shifting Chris Hicks to full-back could be a Paul Cullen *‘accidental gameplan masterstroke’. He already looks safer and smarter than Bridge.
*From Cullen’s old English dictionary of nonsensical phrases.
