OVER a month since my last blog..must do better
although I do have a couple of excuses.
First up, nothing has happened.
OK, Ellery returned to the game..but how long’s that
going to last?
It’s a very Kevin Keeganish move and like the latest
move by the permed bike-crasher, I suspect it will all
end in tears.
Christmas was dull. SKY’s annual round-up of last season treated
us to the sight of Angela Powers, growing scarier by
the day..

..driving around in a sports car and labouring
a pun (as ever) about motoring for two hours.
All to a backdrop of contemporary musical gems from
Phil Collins? M People?? Shalamar??? and Georgie
Fame???? Well at least Georgie was from Leigh.
John Wilshere was again voted the most handsome man in
Papua New Guinea. You can add Salford to that judging
by the usual Willows crowd.
Leeds beat the Rabbitohs in Florida and were given
some nice jackets by Russell Crowe.
Darren Fleary and Anthony Farrell were named in the
Yorkshire Prison Services team...another reason not to
get locked up after a wild night in Lindley.
Paul Sculthorpe maintains he’s fitter than ever and
raring to go. There’s never any doubting the latter
but I fear his next knock will be his last.
Stephen Jones declares in the Sunday Times “of all the
rugby league players captured by union, the loss of
the prodigious Chris Ashton was the most hurtful”. Eh?
Hadn’t Ashton become a liability at Wigan, dropped by
his coach and reviled by fans for posing in a
Northampon shirt?
Still what do I know about Jones? Just listen to these
glowing testimonies from admirers of his work.
"Jones is a deft conjurer, who can draw whimsy from a
hat” Hamish Bowles, VOGUE USA
"Stephen Jones is the maker of the most beautiful hats
in the world" Anna Piaggi, ITALIAN VOGUE
Judge for yourself..

But after three months of inactivity the real stuff
starts on Saturday.
The SKY engineer is calling round on the morning to
upgrade me to their HD service.
Which means if he does turn up at all he’ll probably
cut off my water supply.
And as I spill pizza topping on to the sofa with a
minute to go to the Leeds v Hull KR kick off the
satellite signal will disappear.
Which means no Stevo..so it won’t be a wasted evening
after all.

Welly I never wrote...
Don't think it was that dull as lovely Ted FuiFui was born!
